Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after two separate knife incidents earlier this week in Abbey Hey.
A man was taken to hospital on Monday night (September 1) after being stabbed in the leg on the Fallowfield Loop near the Gorton Reservoir Allotments.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, while the suspect – who there is no description of – escaped on foot.
At around 7:45 the following night, a brawl broke out between ‘seven or eight people’ close to the Prince of Wales pub on Abbey Hey Lane.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) believe some of the men involved were carrying knives, but say that the fight was an isolated incident with no threat to the local community.
They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a Tesla who may have caught the melee on dashcam footage.
DC Callum Taylor, from GMP’s City of Manchester’s Xcalibre Task Force, said: “I am aware any incident like this will of course cause concern, but we believe the fight was isolated and there was no wider threat to members of the public.
“However, we do have extra patrols in the area and I would urge anyone with concerns to speak to an officer.
“We are already undertaking several enquiries and we are now asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to please get in touch with any information.
“If you saw anything – no matter how insignificant you think it may be – please get in touch with us.”
