Drugs, knives, e-bikes and £6,000 seized in Gorton raid

A man was arrested and released without charge after an early morning drugs bust in East Manchester.

Specialist officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) battered down the door of a house on Levenshulme Road in Gorton, seizing controlled drugs and £6,000 in cash.

They also recovered five e-bikes that were suspected of being stolen, a machete and a Rambo-style knife during the raid on Thursday September 11.

A statement from GMP said: “Following an increase in reports of suspected drug dealing, e-bike crime linked to drug supply, and anti-social behaviour, your local Gorton Neighbourhood Policing Team and Neighbourhood Tasking Team, led by Inspector Campbell, have executed a drugs warrant near Sunny Brow Park.

“If you know of any drug-related crime or anti-social behaviour, tell us.

“You can speak directly to your neighbourhood officers at regular community events, contact us online via live-chat, or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.

“Together, we will target those bringing harm to our area and make sure Gorton remains a safe place for everyone.”
